Re: Mfg'd Ammunition Online Sources
Doesn't appear to violate the current rules for this forum as currently worded.bmsma wrote:if we run across a sale online or local is it ok to put the vender name or even a link ?? just as a fyi to everyone ??

Mags response above is correct .... our forum does not permit members to buy or sell ammo or firearms on the open forum .... we do encourage members to post comments and links related to businesses they deal with on most any product ....

Re: Mfg'd Ammunition Online Sources
Recommendations for vendors and services regarding ammunition are most definitely welcome and encouraged. Before this forum was created, ammunition links usually appeared in the "Good Deals" forum, which encompasses a very broad range of shooting and outdoor sports products and services.bmsma wrote:if we run across a sale online or local is it ok to put the vender name or even a link ?? just as a fyi to everyone ??
This new, specific forum should serve to advise our community and readers about both favorable ammunition vendors and personal reviews of various brands and configurations of commercially manufactured ammunition, most particularly that which can be used in Henry firearms.
I'm looking forward to reading everyone's opinions and recommendations.

Q to CT, and any other Admins.
I jumped over to the "Good Deals" forum mentioned by CT_Shooter, and noticed quite a number of ammunition threads. Could they possibly be moved into this new forum?
Additionally, if Henry Folk in their Forum searches find other ammunition-related threads, might those also be consolidated here?
Just a thot...I know it's extra work, so either a yea or nay is okay. Thanks.

Re: Mfg'd Ammunition Online Sources
I support PTs suggestion to consolidate, but with a filter. Some of the 'Good Deals' website sales have expired. So there would need to be some vetting on which website links to bring over. Maybe just bring over the home page of those expired sales.

Re: Mfg'd Ammunition Online Sources
I've never purchased ammo online and skeptical about doing so. Those of you that have which online sites have you trusted with your CC info and home address?
Selection of reasonably priced .30-30 from the LGS is limited to 4. I've put three of them through my Henry and have a box of the 4th yet to shoot. I'd like to try PVU as the fifth, but have to get it online.

Re: Mfg'd Ammunition Online Sources
I recommend TargetSports USA as an online vendor for a wide variety of ammunition. I bought .357 magnum ammo from them before I started reloading. No problems and service as expected.Mags wrote:Those of you that have which online sites have you trusted with your CC info and home address?

Re: Mfg'd Ammunition Online Sources
I recommend targetsportsusa. Very good pricing and they ship it out fast and free shipping on case lots. They offer a Prime membership and you save another 8% and then you don't have to buy cases of ammo to get free shipping. I think I will go with the Prime membership this month. They have been great with me on all my orders.

Re: Mfg'd Ammunition Online Sources
as a fan of Nosler bullets, the best source I've found is Shooter's Pro Shop ===> http://www.shootersproshop.com/nosler-products.html .... they apparently have an agreement with Nosler to sell their blemished bullets/ammo and overruns .... the Blems perform equal to first line ammo, they may just not be as shiny .... over time I've bought tens of thousands and I'd hunt with any of them
Re: Mfg'd Ammunition Online Sources
I know I've mentioned SG Ammo before, but another endorsement opportunity came up just now.
Was re-stocking on the 30-30 ammo that seems to be working out best, so I placed an order with SG. Literally 8 minutes later, I had a UPS notification that it was shipping today.
Will be here (in KC) on Thursday (as they're in Stillwater, OK). 7 boxes of 30-30, $12 shipping, so not too bad on a $/box basis.
Usually about $.50-$1.00 price break on lots of 10 or 20 boxes (depending on what it is).
Good selection, too, of just about everything!

Re: Mfg'd Ammunition Online Sources
Unfortunately here in post-SafeAct NYS we can no longer order ammo online without going through an ffl. Our local WalMart has Federal blue box 150 gr. 30 30 for $9 and change and Federal is offering a $5/box rebate up to ten boxes.
