Thought I would throw this out there out of curiosity.
The highest percentage of us are older, so, I'm figuring many might have some thoughts on this issue. Maybe some have already satisfied their desires.
I don't expect a whole lot, but, there are a few things I would still like to do and places to see.
My first career transferred me across the country, so I became a career renter. Main thing on my list was to buy my own home so I had a place to leave to my son. I achieved that at a late age.
Although I have traveled the country a lot, still have not seen the Grand Canyon...hope to do so.
Anyway, I think of this topic a lot anymore, as I'm not getting any younger and a couple health issues are prompting these thoughts.
Please share if you wish to. Maybe things already realized, or things planned/hoped for.

Hey Mark. Yeah, ubetcha. I want to start around Corpus Christe around November 1st. Camp and fish the entire Gulf coast to the Keys. An active snow avoidance project.

May need a better kayak.

Sounds like a GREAT plan! That's what I'm talkin' about....all for snow avoidance also.
Went skiing a lot in my youth, but don't dare now!

Had 3 guys on harley's tailgating me real bad the other day. Real bad. Like right on my back bumper. I was doing speed limit on highway. No pass lane for them. When they did get a lane to pass I let 'em have it as they went by by window....words my mom would not be proud of. One of them looked so I know he heard me. As they got past me....Hells Angels.

So if cussing out a Hells Angel wasn't on my bucket list, it oughta be...

Love it RR... , they're probably lucky they rode on.

I know you cannot carry. But dang! None of us need those jerks. Glad you could shrug it off.

I'll think about a bucket list when the never ending punch lists wind down...

I have been in Nor Cal and seen the coastal redwoods but Id sure like to make it Kings Canyon and see the General Sherman and General Grant tree someday.

I have no desire to be a world traveler. There is enough to behold on this continent. Not to mention, I don't intend to get on a plane again untill my Dad in Denver passes. Even then, I might drive. Oh.....have no desire to jump out of a plane either.
Will leave that to our great men and women in uniform.

The FAA had me flying around the country a lot but always in the air. Now that I'm retired the Wife and I take our motorhome wherever the whim demands.
We've done the East, South, Southwest, but not the West as in California. Been to the Calgary Stampede and the Grand Canyon though.
We usually don't stay in one place more than a week at the most, and then we move on. We might hear about something we've not seen,
and off we go.

But it always feels good to be back home in the Spring.

We're also loners and travel alone most of the time.

I guess that would be a strong sense of pride, or put a knot in your throat...maybe both.

Seriously....living 100% off the grid would be a big one. But I don't know if that will happen, although nice to think about. Checked a couple off already; Custer Battlefield, guided in Wyoming, Buffalo Bill's house in North Platte. One big one when young was to get paid to cowboy, and have done that lots of times now.

Admire your other accomplishments as well RR....seriously.

In addition to growing up in a very liveable place like Kansas City, I've had the good fortune to live in all four corners of the country during my life. I traveled for decades for work, and have seen/been in nearly all 50 states.

I also did a couple of foreign study stints in college, and I'd like to go back to the UK for a few weeks. Self-guided (for the most part), on my own timeline, England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. 4-6 weeks.

I was there once for week on business. It is way cool.

I've also been to awesome Grenoble, France (French Alps) on business as well as Taipei, Taiwan.

I've traveled to many interesting places in the world. I've met royalty, poor folk, regular folk, retired once, done things I never dreamed of and done things I have dreamed of. I finished my bucket list early. I am fortunate I guess. It was a short list in full disclosure.

The rest has been gravy. I can't wait to retire a second time and become a gentleman farmer of sorts. I have not collected all the firearms I want. One still eludes me. It is a Henry. It hasn't been made yet and may never be made. It will be one of one. I will let you know if that ever happens.

But my list is full and I'm still pretty young. Yup, the rest is gravy.
