It looks as if you guys had a better than good time and shared some fun conversation. Thanks for the pics, Bandit. It's nice to see you three and pics of the surrounding sights. I do hope Dutch found his way to having a good time there, too.

Thank you for the pictures.

PS: My husband said that our Western Montana town's traffic was CRAZY even though a lot of people are out camping, etc.

Good meeting you too. Good time. I think we bored your buddy a bit with all our yapping!
I had a good day at the show. Picked up some powder and JHP for the 44 mag. Got a great deal on a new custom fit while you wait gun belt. There was a slight imperfection with the leather. So he gave me a deal I couldn't refuse.
Good show for picking up small stuff. Like bandit mentions one vendor was dang near giving away name brand cleaning supplies. Same for another Vendor and off brand Dremel wheels and such.
One vendor I expected to be there wasn't this time.

No, you don't have one picture on twice.
What you have are excellent photo "bookends!"
I'd say the calvary came to the rescue!

For anyone who decides to visit. Make sure you check out the NEW Museum and especially the Cyclorama upstairs. That's a once in a lifetime experience for most folks. Before movies and pictures they used a big round painting to depict the battle. It has been restored and placed in a new modern way to show it. With modern lighting and sound the pictures comes to life. You are watching from a viewpoint that's like being inside a diorama. 1st time I checked it out the hair stood up on the back of my neck it seemed so real. Pretty cool for 200 year old technology.

Glad that you guys could get together, very nice photos also. I have been there a few times and the new visitors center and the museum is certainly worth the trip.

me in the middle holding (forgive me) a Marlin 1894.
You are forgiven, Bandit. It is a beautiful rifle, especially with those sights.

Forgot to ask a question. Eisenhower lived on his Gettysburg farm after leaving the White House. Have you seen that National Historic Site?
I bet there's a lot of history on display, as I read in one article that 99% of the Eisenhower's original furnishings have been maintained there.

Good to "see" for real some members together. I have been to Gettysburg a bunch when I was a kid. We traveled from Virginia to western New York every summer. We would stop at different National parks on every trip. But Gettysburg seemed to make the rotation more often.

Ah, CT's behind-the-scenes gentle touch again as he easily makes people disappear!!
Bandit,
Curious as to how the rifles in your last picture are secured to the monument?
Also, they are real, correct? But if so, how does the metal and wood hold up against the weather?
Quite interesting displays. Thanks for adding these to your post.

My wife is already talking about a trip to the battlefield this summer after seeing the pictures. We have been to a few of the US battlefields but not Gettysburg. We have been to some out west also like Custer's and I think the other was called Wounded Knee. I have a few more pictures to add that I didn't post yet. Here they are.
A few people got in the way on this one. Oh well that's how it goes.

Slight subject change but while I was at the show I saw some of the silver Henry's for the 1st time. Both plain and engraved. Very pretty. The brass is more my style but they are sweet!

Thanks for the pictures and reminder about this thread. I've met two people from other forums and its always nice to chat in person. We should do an annual convention for Henry Forum members.
