Ok...we're all friends here, right?

So, I have this M94 Winchester. It was made in 1960.

It is in really fine condition. Like, it looks like it is a few years old and been hunted a bit, and caught just a few bumps and bruises.

What's cool too, is it is a 32 Special...so it is a little more "interesting".

I put a Lyman receiver sight on it and it is really easy to shoot well.

I can honestly say there are only two things that detract from the rifle; 1. It has the typical heavy M94 trigger pull and 2. It isn't a Henry.

So, I am thinking about selling it, so I can use the $$ to buy another Henry.

Part of me says, Henry are always going to be there. Really nice pre-64 M94 in 32 Special is kinda rare. I should keep it.

Then I see a brass side-loader Henry and I get weak!

Help!!

Tough choice my friend. If the Henry is a 327, may be easier.

I don't know what I am missing when it comes to the 327.

Seems like the ultimate plinker that you can shoot a hundred rounds without getting pounded.

A 1960 Winchester?? I would hold on to that one! Maybe save some bucks over time and buy the Henry later.

Learn from someone who has learned from experience way too many times. Don't let go of the Winchester! Big mistake, and I assure you you will regret it for the rest of your life. Haven't let anything go in probably 30 years but used to buy, sell, and trade a lot. I still and will always regret so many that I let get away in the past. Henry isn't going anywhere so if money is the issue start saving some scratch and pick up the Henry to go along with the Winchester but don't let it go.

I used to own one in 32 Special. I lost it in a house fire in 2006. If I were you I'd hold on to it. Save your money for the Henry.

Keep the M94 and buy the Henry.

bottom line, only you can say what's right for you .... do you shoot the Winchester very often or is it basically a safe queen ..

I know the feeling, all too well. I've sold off my share of vintage, collectible guns, even knowing that they will continue to appreciate in value, but I'm not so addicted to collectible guns to keep them for the sake of being collectible. I'm a shooting addict, not a collecting addict. If you think you'll get more shooting time with a different gun, go for it. Just make sure you get a fair price for that pre-64 Winny. (Note that the 32s don't bring as good a price as the 30-30s. A bit harder to move.)

Same here - and I have even put up my 1899 Winchester Mod 94 for sale recently. If I can make a couple bucks off of it, or turn it into something I will shoot more then I will consider I have come out ahead - AND I have two other Winchesters.

(Note that the 32s don't bring as good a price as the 30-30s. A bit harder to move.)

NCG is correct and beat me to it.
If it were a 30-30 I might try to talk you into keeping it but being it is a .32 Special - and you really want a Henry then I can support selling it.

I think I would honor it as part of the permanent family.

Both sides of the coin have won in this thread. Each person has decided whether to keep, or not to keep....except you. And easy to see why your coin is sitting on its edge since you are the owner of the Winchester. The owner's decision is the closest to home for sure.

I've been there, done that. An important factor that would influence me when I've sat on the ledge is the Customer Service and Lifetime guarantee that Henry offers. I know this company is a leader in those regards, and this only benefits us, the gun owners. This would make it much easier (for me) to let the Winchester go and replace it with a Henry.

Your last comment was "I am a bit paranoid at the range with it (the Winchester). Doesn't sound like fun to me. But as has been stated earlier in your thread, you are the only person who can, and should, make the decision. Best to you.

So you're afraid to ding the old Winchester but you want to trade it for a fancy new side gate??? Do you intend to stop shooting altogether?
