Got back couple days ago. Some highlights. The Smokies are awesome. Spent more time stopping then driving. A million pictures taken. :) Will post some. The little squirt graduated HS back in Dekalb, Il. and guess what she going to buy with her graduation money. An AR. One that shoots a million rounds of .22 in five seconds. Went out a few days later to a range where she fired my .45 LC Uberti for the first time. She was scared but fired 12 rnds, loaded the pistol with grandpa's help. Proud of her. Her dad spent the hr shooting the .357 Big Boy. I most just watched them. Made up to Northern ,Wi and froze my butt off. Must have gotten to 50 degrees. I am so accumulated to NC weather after only 10 months here. Saw a lot of wife relatives on the reservation. Fun times but so glad to back in my own bed.

The was one sad note that I will post later but overall a very satisfying trip.

Where you trailering or driving a motorized RV? Just interested. We are thinking about buying an RV. Glad you had a good trip.

Nope, we rented a sedan and traveled 3400 miles in it. 2019 Nissan Sentra. Good ride but a little under powered. Especially in the mountains.

Ask Mr. Bar about RVs. He knows a few things about them............!

I'm glad you had an overall great trip. It sounds like a whirlwind. I hope to see some of the photographs here.

I had mentioned a sad thing earlier in the post. I had hope to go to a gun shop that I had bought guns and ammo from when I lived in Illinois. Much to my sadness, the owner had passed suddenly at the age of 38 leaving a wife and three little ones. His widow and his parents (their only child) tried to keep the shop open but it was not be and closed. Thus ending a forty year or so history. His father had started it and another one in Missouri. It was a quaint shop not very big (1000 sq.) but had a unique stand alone 5 lane gun range. Usage was restricted to people who bought guns at the shop. Because of its age was exempted from a lot of the rules and regulations now standard on ranges. When you reserved time you got the whole place to yourself. If you were the first one there in the morning you turned on the lights, started the fans, and checked the temp. It had manual target trolleys and no RO. Rumors abounded that there was blood on the floor at times. You sweep the floor after you were done, picking up your trash. It was primitive, the lighting poor, but we sure loved it. Sad about Steve's family and sad about a unique place that passes into history. :(
