Show off your Pets

Post by daytime dave » Sat May 21, 2016 11:50 am

I thought we had a pet thread, but that could have been on the .org site. So time to show off the pets.

I have a cat and my fiance has three cats. Mine is the biggest, weighing in around 18 or so pounds. He is not in charge however.

I was testing my tablet camera. Here is Riley.

Winnie is a five year old long haired chihuahua. She weighs 7.5 pounds. She loves to go for rides in the car and likes blankets and anything soft to snuggle into. She loves people, but not all other dogs. She often will jump up on my chair with me and sit on my shoulder. Meet Paige. She was born a year ago this month in North Carolina. The CT Humane Society swaps dogs for cats with our southern neighbors and she came north when she was three months old. That's when we met her and took her home. It was a really good day for all of us. She's delightful!

This is Jack. He is a 10-year old mutt of indeterminate origin, in other words a Heinz 57!

My daughter found him on the side of a country road one sub-freezing Saturday morning on her way to visit a friend. His mother had been run over and killed and his three siblings had frozen to death during the night. He was probably only about four weeks old. When she brought him home, he was wheezing and gasping and blowing bubbles out his nose. She wanted to take him to the 24-hour emergency vet clinic, but I told her that would be too expensive. I agreed if he was still alive on Monday, I would take him to our regular vet. After $500 in vet bills, he survived and here he is 10 years later.

Her boyfriend named him Jack after Jack Bauer from the TV show "24". Like the character in the show, he said Jack was too tough to die! He is now my best buddy.

I have had several cats that have been with me more than 15 years. One lived to be 19 and he was the most special to me.
