Really liked these guys when I was younger but still enjoy there music. They should be in the hall of fame as they were together in several groups. Curious to see if an old cowpoke Ranchroper has a comment or 2 because if you like Chris LeDoux you know that even cowboys like a little bit of rock and roll.

Yup...American Woman was one of the first "rock" songs I ever heard. Transistor radio in grade 7 or 8...it was on the radio lots. These guys got tons of radio play.

Another good Canadian band was April Wine. Played at my high school a couple of times. And of course Rush. Saw them lots in bars before they were filling arenas.

Great band. Once in a while you can still them played on the radio. From a time when musicians actually had talent.

Of the two The Guess Who and Rush, Rush is my favorite. 2112 was the first one I can remember listening too but they had a few songs even before Neal Peart I really liked as well.

I Want To Hold Your Hand was the first one I remember.

dddrees, I was just about to mention Rush.
probably my most favorite band from Canada.

Seen once, and put them second behind Pink Floyd as top concerts I ever saw.

Unfortunately I have never seen them live but then again I have gone to just a very few concerts. I can count them on just two hands. However as far as favorite Bands Rush is extremely high my list.


Always thought Neil Peart was an awesome drummer.

I was lucky enough to meet Geddy Lee years ago. I worked with a carpenter on a sound studio he was recording in.

Saw Zeppelin in early 70's.

For various reasons I never went to any concerts when I was growing up. It wasn't until just a few years ago that I went to any. Saw Paul McCartney in Vegas, Seger, Eagles, and Fleetwood Mac (Disapointing).

If I have a chance I think Rush is the only one that I would go to see at this point if I get the chance.

That voice, there's just no mistakening that voice.


But those lyrics to their songs. There has always been something rather mystical about their lyrics. It wasn't until recently I saw a documentary about Rush where they mentioned what a big reader Neil Peart was. Makes sense, now I get where that inspiration came from. Boy, they sure lucked out when they got him.

Never a big fan of Zeppelin, yeah I like some but not like Rush or Floyd.

Seen Bob Seger twice, always a good show.
The day Rush came to town, I wrecked my bike that afternoon.
Sitting in the ER I told the Doc. to hurry up, That I wanted to make the show.
He replied, "so your in a rush to see Rush"
I said "Yep"
Hey, I had fourth row seats, and weren't gonna waste 'em.

Grew up on the Beatles and followed and liked them individually after they split. Aeorosmith was actually my next favorite and still like them but as I got a bit older I started liking Led Zepplin a whole lot more. Then it was Floyd but somehow I always listened to Rush more. I just found their lyrics more interesting. Always liked the Eagles and Bob Seger.
