My wife suggested that my die cast displayed cars needed dusted off. While I had them out taking care of that I thought I would share some pictures with members. I have many more in the attic but that is another day. The picture of the first ones is what I display. The boxed ones are Mopar National cars and are collectible pieces I keep in the boxes. These cars in the boxes all have matching numbers. Here is some of them. My 2 favorites are 1st the 1956 Chrysler 300B. Factory made with the Hemi 354 with the 2 four barrel carburetors. The '55 and '56 300's made some of the fastest laps on the oval tracks for those years. #2 is the Chevy Cameo pick up. What a good looking pick up that would be to cruise in.

Mopar Nat'l cars from '96 and '97.

Mopar Nat'l cars from '94 and '94. The Plum Crazy Hemi 'Cuda at one time was up to $600 and then the bottom fell out of die cast and down they all went.

The Nat'l cars had window stickers just like the original cars. $5,315 would have been a good investment for a Hemi back then as the highest auction price ever for one was $3,500,000.

This is a neat die cast. 426 cu.in. "Elephant" Hemi engine. This motor changed drag racing.

Nice collection, Bandit. Too bad they weren't full size and displayed in your own "auto warehouse!"

Curious about the model/year of one of your cars? In your first photo, it's the 2-door sedan sitting on the right side of the pickup. I had a 1953 Chevy, which I drove for several years back in the 70s. It looks similar to your die cast. Mine was a 4-door, a straight-line 6-cylinder with 3-speed shift on the column. Also had an oil bath filter, which was always a fun mess to handle when changing my oil!

Bottom line, it was a most dependable car and quite easy to drive. Fun memories! Thanks for sharing your photos.

Nice collection. Thanks for sharing. Mine are long gone but were the Matchbox cars from the early '60's. They all drove at least a million miles in the sandbox and never so much as an oil change. There was a Coca Cola truck I was particularly fond of.

Sure looks like a 53 or 54 Bel Air. Can't tell without seeing the turn signals or tail lights.

It is a 1953 Bel Air 2dr Hardtop. Inline 6. I believe they were called Blue flame? Dad had one like this when I was in junior high school. His was green where this one is blue. His was "three on the tree" and had the fender skirts like this and was also a 2dr Hardtop. I had a die cast '53 yellow and white convertible but one of the grandsons "stole" it from me.

That is a really nice collection. I love die cast cars and tractors. That blue Bel Air is really nice.

I like die cast cars too.

You have an extremely nice collection! My die casts are mostly tractors and airplanes. I dust them with a small paint brush.

I had that too! I think my boat was black though. The little flame out the back moved in and out when the wheels turned if I recall.

My '53 Chevy Bel-Air was green like your Dad had, with the lighter two-tone roof color. This picture is the closest web image I could find to my car. (I know that I have several paper photos from years ago; but those are stored away). I didn't have the full chrome hubcabs covering the entire wheel; only had the center "baby moon" chrome caps. That made the car a little less fancy, but that was okay. What I do still remember is how smooth that car rode when going down the road. I don't think it had an inch of plastic anywhere on the body! One final thing. Do you remember the "spinners" we used to mount on the steering wheel (no power steering on this Bel-Air)? Well, I had one on this car, and think I had the Chevy emblem in the face. Those were fun times!

Oh yes, I couldn't ever say this was my car, because never had any b/w dice hanging from the rearview mirror!!

Thanks for the close-ups of your die cast Chevy....very cool-looking car.

I have that batmobile with the flame that goes in and out. This is a new set I got at Walmart a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't resist it. The original boat and batmobile together is valuable.

Dave, if you like Batcars, have you seen this one.

Danbury Mint did this one in 1/24th scale a few years ago. I have a lot of 1/24 and 1/18 cars.

I had a few more die cast cars out of storage this morning to dust off the boxes and clean up the cabinet stored in. I took a picture of them for my fellow members. The first picture from right to left is Dodge Warlock pick-up, Dodge Lil' Red Express truck, Charger Daytona 1 of 2,500 die cast in the blue color and '55 Chevy Bel Air 1 of 1,500 in the blue and white two tone.('55 & '56 my favorite Chevy's) This may up set some Chevy fans but I do not like a '57 unless it is a 150 or 210 series that had hardly any chrome.

The next picture from Rt - Lt is Buick GS and GSX editions done for GS National drag races held in Bowling Green, Kentucky for '96-'97-'98. These are all matching number cars. The right car is GS Stage 1 in Aqua mist color the center is a GSX in Bittersweet and the left is a white GSX. These are going to be sold. This is the first time they have been out of the boxes since buying them in '96 thru '98.

At one time I had many NASCAR diecast cars. Today I have only these two and my NYPD police car.
