Generally 40-100 yards, but now I will be able to easily move them out farther.
I have places on the farm I hunt to easily get 300-400 yds.

If I may, another portable target stand, farm and ranch related:
3 T-posts with at least 1 with the flat plate. The ~2" 4-way can be PVC, available from Amazon for about $6. Use the T-post with the flat plate as the rear post with the flat plate end on top. The flat plate keeps the 4-way from sliding down the T-post. Attach the chain to the target plate 1/3 down from the top so the plate cants/tilts toward the ground.

Good thinking guys. If you bought something like this it would be $$$$$$$

Wingnut, the down angle is a great idea to semi-control where the bullets go after impact.

Got an update on the distance.
Not sure if it was that the large target was off to mostly one side, but
at roughly 45 yds. just guessing, shootin from the back porch yesterday morn.

i rung it a few times with the 41, no problem but when I grabbed the ole Marlin 30-30.
Well that overturned the apple cart/shootin stand.
It was raining so I didn't stand it back up till a little latter.
The wife was home after that and she had a headache so no more testing.

Red kinda hard to tell by the pics., but those targets have a slight angle also.
And the bullets that were hitting the targets were impacting the ground right under the targets.

Nice that you could shoot off the porch too! I’ve opened the awning of my camper at the range before on super wet days.

Here's mine, not homemade and it's for paper targets. Works great and it's easy and cheap to replace the 1x2 uprights if you have a real flyer.
