A great day spent with my wife

Post by bandit1250 » Wed May 18, 2016 5:46 am

I spent the day wife my wife yesterday. I took her to the place she works out and waited at a LGS until she was finished. Then we went to a few stores to pick up a few items we needed at home. Then we hit the pawn shop to look around at what might have come in. Soon as we walked in I saw a Remington 700 on the rack. I asked to look at it and it was a ADL model in 270 Win. I had just bought one last week like it but in 30/06. I wanted a 270 when I got the '06 and here I run into one just a few days later. My wife asked if I was going to get it and I told her I had just got the one last week. She said get this one and trade the other one in later on something else you want. I had already spent my money on the other one and didn't want to do a lay away. I really like the 270 for my kind of shooting and with the 90-100 gr. bullets they make a super windy day varmint rifle and have less recoil. While I was looking at tools and other items she went and bought me the rifle. She said she got it while she could and you don't know when you may see another in that condition for that price. So yesterday was another good day out with my wife as usual and now I got another toy to play with. Here is the rifle.

They were asking $300 and gave it to her for $275+tax.

Since the rifle is over 20 Yrs. old I did a complete disassembly of the trigger and cleaned it up before adjusting it. Set it at 1 3/4lb.

The little wood tray behind the rifle on the first picture we got it at a indoors flea market. I thought it would be nice on my bench to place items in so they don't get lost on the bench. Paid a terrible price of $.50 for it. This is some rings and parts the guy at the first shop I buy things at gave me while I was there waiting for my wife. He said he just cleaned off his bench and I could have all this stuff he didn't want. Missing a few screws and a couple ring caps but I have extra parts in my box of parts.

The rifles come & go. But having a good wife that will spend time with you is a real plus!
Your subject line says it all most clearly, Bandit.
Glad you had a "great day!" :)

You may want to trade off the 30.06 but your wife is a keeper.
