Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra, Live At Hyde Park

Post by CT_Shooter » Sun Mar 03, 2019 3:34 pm

This concert was just broadcast by New York's PBS. The concert was an outstanding technical production. It rivaled their studio productions. Wow.

Very cool. Tough to make a live concert like that sound so similar to studio output, what with all the moving pieces and parts. Thanks for sharing.

What popped up next for me on YT was the "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" at the R&R Hall of Fame with Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Prince. Legendary.

Which was then followed by Prince's SuperBowl halftime vid, in a driving rainstorm. Hard not to watch it, but hard to at the same time.

Thank you Stan, Excellent post! Brings back memories. Was at the concert in the mid 70's in Chicago when the album was first introduced. One of my favorite old bands. Jeff Lynne is a genius. Many great old songs...sorry, you've touched a nerve here. One of my most favorite was "Telephone Line". Many, many others as well, along with his work with "The Travelling Wilburys"...you've inspired me to pull out the old vinyl !!! BTW the concert is forever etched in my memories, space ship light show and all....OK, I'm done... :D

As long as we're on the subject of technical productions...sorry I don't have the link, however also by PBS a while back, and will live in my DVR is "Brit-Floyd". Was exceptional if that suits your fancy and you can find it. You won't regret it!

I remember going to an ELO concert at Irvine College arena.
That's it I remember going.
Then we drove my VW bus up the 395 to Lundy Lake and Bodie in the Owens Valley.
Mid-later 70's, alot of those years are fuzzy.

Here's a pretty cool vintage version from what looks to be 1976. Kind of chill-inducing as well, and so great to see the whole production, from strings to keyboards, not to mention great hair and shirts you wish you had back in those days!

Jeff Lynn is supposed to come here on 7-27. I'm trying to get tickets. I would love to go to the show.
I grew up hearing ELO and to this day still love them! I found this post while wearing my Olivia Newton John/ELO t-shirt. (Bonus points to whoever can guess the shirt's representation)
I was also was exposed to Pink Floyd, Alan Parsons, and so much more. My parents collected music, at one point there were about 500,000 records, albums and CDs in our home.
I never take myself seriously....
