Jimmy Fallon
Jimmy Fallon
Not a regular Tonight Show viewer but ran across this on YouTube and thought it was pretty neat.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6otmy3DAK8
Not quite as good as the original though.

That second one when Neil was a pup was excellent. I need that recording.
Load on Sunday and Shoot all Week.......okay it's a Mare's Leg I will reload on Wednesday.
Re: Jimmy Fallon
Very cool, especially the original. Great backstory he shares about the song makes it even more special. Gotta love Neil. Thanks for sharing!

I understand the interest, but, 'A southern man don't need him around anyhow '.
Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

From Wikipedia:
"About that time when I wrote ("Heart of Gold"), and I was touring, I had also—just, you know, being a rich hippie for the first time—I had purchased a ranch, and I still live there today. And there was a couple living on it that were the caretakers, an old gentleman named Louis Avila and his wife Clara. And there was this old blue Jeep there, and Louis took me for a ride in this blue Jeep. He gets me up there on the top side of the place, and there's this lake up there that fed all the pastures, and he says, "Well, tell me, how does a young man like yourself have enough money to buy a place like this?" And I said, "Well, just lucky, Louis, just real lucky." And he said, "Well, that's the darnedest thing I ever heard." And I wrote this song for him."
Re: Jimmy Fallon
I don't have it but there's also a live version on "Neil Young - Live at Massey Hall". It's available on Amazon and Ebay, I would get the cd/dvd. It's also available to stream if you have Prime.RetiredSeabee wrote:That second one when Neil was a pup was excellent. I need that recording.

Re: Jimmy Fallon
Great song and thanks for sharing. I can do very well without Fallon. To me he is not in the same class as Carson or Leno.

Thank you Dave..not a big Fallon fan, but videos were great! Brings back memories from that time in my life. Now I feel like putting on my old Stetson and going to visit RR...dave77 wrote:Not a regular Tonight Show viewer but ran across this on YouTube and thought it was pretty neat.
