I don't recall ever actually naming one of my firearms .... however, for a good while now I find that I've come to refer to my CCH 45-70 as thwacker .... this has me wondering how many others have names for their firearms in general, specially for their Henry rifles

Most times I can call mine Positively Outstanding Shooter...but then there are the days where it could be the reverse! :) :) :)

I'm thinking 'supper'. It has provided. Or maybe 'hah!', the sound I make every time I see the impact. Or, in the words of Al Pacino, 'my little friend '.

Not sure, working on it.

I've owned a few firearms that I've been quite fond of, but I never named any of them, but it's a noble notion. Will have to mull this one...

Laughed OUT LOUD! And not just the "lol" abbreviation. Like, 'scared the dog' laughed out loud.

Sometimes I say...OK, time to bring out the " Big Boy ". In my case it's the 357. So I can't claim credit for the name...that belongs to Henry USA... :D

Davy Crockett helped set the tone for naming rifles .... nobody knows how many different flintlock rifles he owned but its reported that he named 3 of them .... “Old Betsy” ---- “Pretty Betsy” ---- “Fancy Betsy” .... none of them were with him at the Alamo .... by the way, his oldest sister's name was Betsy

I’m pretty sure you’re ok to part ways with it!

.22 Ruger= Sedgewick

.22 Henry= Bob

M1 Carbine= Joe

.30-30 Model 94= Old Joe

7mm-08 Ruger= Slick Willy

.357 Henry= Hank

.45-70 Marlin= Perkins

And if you believe any of those, I’ve got a bridge for sale...

Growing up as a family we never named anything.

The cars (all chevys) were "the 59", "the 63", "the 68", "the truck", "the Jeep". The boats are "the Robalo", "the Tidewater", etc.

I guess we had no imagination :)

You reminded me BolM that I did name my truck "The Beast". See there's always an exception. :D
