How did you choose your forum name?

Post by Sir Henry » Tue Mar 22, 2016 10:36 am

I was 303lithgow on most forums because I collected Australian 303 British rifles for decades. Then I bought a Henry H001 and was hooked. So when I was made a mod on the old Henry site I changed my screen name to King Henry. Folks thought that was too much and I was demoted to nobility and became Sir Henry.

I have hearing issues. When my oldest daughter was planning her wedding, I overheard her and my wife talking about having "white squirrels" on the wedding cake. I asked them why in the world she wanted white squirrels on her wedding cake. To which they both replied simultaneously, "White swirls you idiot!"

So, since then I have been known as White Squirrel!

BTW, I found a ceramic white squirrel and had the caterer put it on top of the wedding cake!

I always like the history of the American west and I live in Pennsylvania Dutch country and I thought that Deadwood and Dutch went together rather well.

From owning a rear tire destroying monster called a Suzuki 1250 Bandit. Gave up bikes in 2011 and got full speed ahead back into my old true love of guns and shooting. Plus the wife rode on the Bandit one time and said never again. She named it "The Widow Maker." Begged me to sell it and she won out. I don't regret it now.

White Squirrel, now that was funny!!! I too have "hearing" issues. I shot firearms for 43 years in my everyday job but ALWAYS wore hearing protection. My problems are hereditary and within ten years, if I make it to 79, will most likely be stone deaf.

My last name is Story and I was the first born to my mother and father. Mother decided that if I was born a boy I would get my fathers name and she would nick name me Happy. If I had been born a girl my real name would have been Gay Story. And yes I am glad I am what I am! I was known as and signed all my school papers Happy Story until I was a Sophomore in high school.

My name is too obvious.

It's what I like, lol.

And another reason why I own a Henry.

No where near the beauty of White Squirrel's story -- that was great!

My name is an abbreviation of the name I have on the shotgun forum. But it didn't fit at all with Henry rifles. So...PT7 is simply short for Pumptimes7, which reflected the configuration of my 12-ga shotgun. It was a tactical pump, and I put a 2-round extension on it. Total magazine rounds ended up at 7. That's it.

Now that I think about it, LeverTimes10 sounds good for the config of my H006M. Oh well, most of the time I'm kinda slow on the uptake.

I worked the midnight shift for over half my career. I retired while still on it. I worked full time at another job, still on that shift. About a year into that job, I was asked if I wanted to go to the day shift. After carefully pondering such an offer for .........................a tenth of a second, I have been daytime dave ever since. I came out of retirement recently and accepted a day job.

Most people call me Catherine or 'Cate'.

I sometimes sign my name Old Lady Cate when my arthritis flares up too.
