Maybe I got carried away

I got the notion last evening to clean up my bench after not being able to find a trigger shoe I had just laid down. I thought this is it with stuff laying around in my way. Most of my friends think my work area is clean when I think it is a mess. They usually just say "You should see mine if you think yours is bad." Well the problem now is I will have to look for every thing I put away when I need it.

Looks nice until I clutter it all up again.

My friends describe my gun work area as cluttered, but for me it is completely organized clutter, not ordinary clutter. There's a difference.

Well, did you find the shoe? If so, it was worth the effort.

I think my tools conspire to hide from me. Recently had a mischievous tape measure. Every minute or so it would disappear. I'd spend several minutes looking for it and then it would mysteriously appear out of nowhere in plain sight. Then some of my other tools got into the act too.

Mine too, but nobody believes me. Had unsolicited help a time or two cleaning up my organized clutter. Afterwards I had a difficult time finding things.

Why did I know some one would ask that question. Yes I did find the trigger shoe. I found it on the trigger of the CZ 452 that I had put it on right before I got called up stairs to have supper.

I didn't remember I had put it on.

Just a wonderful thing this getting old.

Well all is not bad. I did remember I had sit the CZ in the gun rack where it was easy to find.

Here is my bench after the clean up. Looks kind of naked now. Won't take long to make it look a mess again.

I need to get busy in the gun areas. I have been focusing in the woodshop. I need to build a leatherworking bench to stand beside the armorers desk. I won't call it a gunsmith's desk... I just ain't that good. Lol.
Good job cleaning, but you are right, it looks nekked.

Way to clean for an "active" bench...need a few coffee cans full of unknown left over hardware!
Now about the wall art... Would that be a 1965 S/S Plymouth maybe a Ronnie Sox car peeking out to the right of Dick Landy's machine???

I cleaned mine too - must be sump'n in the air. Still haven't found my sizing wax, been using Burt's Bees lip balm to neck size brass (OK, but want to find the right stuff.)
Maybe things hide in cold weather?

Good call on the '65 S/S Plymouth. Ronnie Sox and his Hemi '65 Hard top. I am a post car guy myself. Got his auto graph at Chrysler Carlisle in '93. Could have sold this picture once for $300 to a Mopar collector if my wife hadn't had our names put on it.

Probably right in front of you in plain sight, but cloaked (like my tape measure). Try looking away and see if it appears out the corner of one of your eyes.

Back to that S&M car....that little bit of front air dam below the bumper tipped me off! A/FX was the new class back then as the match race Super/Stocks got carried away on mods!
