Merry Christmas to all friends from across the Atlantic.
May these festive days be sweet and pleasant to you ...

Maybe one day I will have the opportunity to come see your incredible country,
and who knows maybe to meet some of you ... It would be a pleasure.
Likewise if you want to go to France! ;)

Monsieur,

Thanks for your invite to visit your country. I have had that same invite given to me by my long-time friend, Bernard, who lives in Courbevoie. We were colleagues together at undergraduate school in central Illinois during the early 1980s. We also travelled together on a study abroad session to the former Soviet Union, and had some incredible experiences. Although we had different native languages, we did speak together fairly well in Russian! Returning home and to our campus, we co-authored some articles in our university newspaper about our study abroad experiences.

Those were just the things we did. But after he returned to France, we've kept in touch re. our families, children, work, and I have learned much from him about your country over the last 3-1/2 decades. We have enjoyed a pleasant international friendship.

I've never had the chance to go to France; probably never will as the years gather on. But knowing Bernard and his wife has given me more than a visit to a foreign land would. I'm glad you've have decided to become part of the Henry membership here. As the months have passed by, we are growing in a small way internationally....with people joining from around the world. Learning and "seeing" how each other lives has been a pleasure.

Best to you and yours during this holiday/Advent season, as well.

P.S. I did not know that Daytime Dave writes in French. You two should have some good PM chats down-the-road. :)

As Baldrick's card reads to Ebenezer Blackadder "A very Messy Kwesnuz" to you too. :)

If you have not seen Rowan Atkinson's take on the classic...check it out.

Thank you! And, Merry Christmas to you as well. I enjoyed the parts of France that I visited in the 80's. Cannes, Marseille, Nice, and Monte Carlo come to mind. I think it was where I picked up my first bottle of perfume for my wife. It had a very pleasant aroma. Back then, I paid about $50 for it. I seem to remember Marseille as being a quiet town then. Of all the countries of Europe I visited then, France is one I thought of visiting again one day. And maybe, I will, when I stop working. I figure, it may be an extended holiday, considering travel and tourism. At any rate, bonne journe'e.
