I decided it is time to get rid of a few of my Marlins. I have a 39M a guy is coming to do the transfer tomorrow afternoon. My wife said she is keeping all of hers. I am not going to sell many of mine but I need room for some that are setting out of my safe now with out jamming them in. I have made up my mind if I am going to buy something else something I already have has to go to a new home. A week from Thursday another guy will meeting me at my dealer to do the paper work to transfer a 1947 39A to him. I took the '47 A model out today to test fire it and make sure it was working well before he takes it. I mounted a scope on it a while back and never shot it in so I wanted to do that to. Well it had a little glitch in a tube full of ammo it would hang up a few times going into the chamber and had to release pressure on the lever slightly and then the next time it would go. I got it home and looked at the cartridge guide that guides the round straight in line with the chamber. Was very loose so I had to pull the scope and base off and tighten the screw that holds it and it runs 100% now with any ammo I tried. Glad I took the time to try it before he takes it next week and would have had a problem. Cleaned it all back up and put the base and scope back on. This guy can't believe he finally found a 39A that he could afford. He is lucky to get a old Ballard barrel Marlin for the price I sold it to him for his son.

sometimes we have to make decisions that we'd really rather not make but you gotta do what you gotta do .... hopefully the transaction will go smoothly and you can quickly move on

A 39A is one of the last rifles on my list.

I do understand. We sold off all our Marlins, except for our vintage 1946 39A. Wonderful guns, but we just weren't shooting them. Other rimfires are a better fit for our shooting routine, now.

I'd like to find a Marlin 39A myself.

Just got the transfer done at my LGS. The guy that bought the M drove up from down in Va. to get it. He was a very happy guy when he left with it. He really liked the great condition it was in. It is his 9 year old sons Christmas present. I would like to see his face Christmas morning.

Congrats on the sell of your Marlin 39M.
