We had lost power at 530pm on Thursday evening. Genny kicked in. Lost phones, internet, and alarm system monitoring at 630pm on friday. Phones finally came back up about 1pm on Sunday. Still no power. Dominion Energy still saying everyone should be back on line by Monday evening, Tuesday at the latest. Have missed y'all.

Yup, power dropped, genny waited the minute or so to make sure it wasn't just a brown out, then fired up... has been running ever since. It surges for a second when there is an amperage increase...

Water pump kicks on...
AC blower/Compressor kicks in....

Then levels back out and purrs along. Our 500 gallon tank was at 70 % when we started. We are at somewhere between 50 and 55% now. We should be good for at least another week.

The genny has done well since we got it, only minor issues other than a bad voltage regulator. Those things happen.

Glad to hear you're all okay. Most folks,uphere, have backup generators. We run propane on ours. Easier to get started than gasoline if allowed sit a long time without running.

By the way, we're already getting snow up here. Oh, yeah, that time of year.

Yup, propane as well. We cook and heat with it, just bumped the tank up from 300 to 500 gallons.
We also increased the supply line size from the tank until it split, one feed going to the furnace and cook stove and the other to the genny. That was on the advice of the gas company. After that, we were golden.

for a emergency use generator I really like propane .... the generator we had built into our camper burns propane .... its burns clean and requires much less maintenance that generators powered by gasoline or diesel
