A nice tight little band. Great vocals. Thanks for posting.

They had some great songs, the young lady could really sing, beautiful voice. Brings back memories. Karen Carpenter was another one, we lost her too soon.

Judith Durham had such a sweet, pure, controlled, and strong voice; and she was lovely. Like many others, she's had some difficult times lately.

Ditto SH! That was a treat, H88. We are dating ourselves here, but hell, thats what we grew up with. When I see those infomercials selling all the pop music from the 50s and 60s, I remember and want all of them.

You know, CT, singers today always feel like they have to out do themselves. It's a direct result of shows like "the voice" and "AI", with the coaches telling the singers, "you got to let it out...", "show us the real you", and such nonsense that they think every note has to be made complex and shouted at the top of their vocal limits.

Sometimes it's just nice to hear someone sing a song.

It's a direct result of shows like "the voice" and "AI", with the coaches telling the singers, "you got to let it out...", "show us the real you", and such nonsense that they think every note has to be made complex and shouted at the top of their vocal limits.

I've been taking voice lessons for almost five years and its the natural thing to try to belt it out. My teacher has to constantly reel me back down. When you see someone singing like that they make it look so easy but it takes a lot of concentration.

I do understand, Sir H because I have sung, and recorded. Someday I'll post a few tracks..........

But yes, you have to sing louder than it seems, even if you're trying to keep it mellow . You also have to over enunciate, or you sound like you're mumbling.

She's is almost at the point of shouting, but makes it seem like she's singing on her front porch. I guess that's why we like her so.

What I was more referring to was the "leaving it on the field" with every song, including bending and changing pitch constantly.

Look at the National Anthem, for example.

Any way, I'll try to post a song if I can figure out how and get some time. To be kind, I'll start with instrumentals...........LOL.

And BTW, anybody else record anything or have a youtube playing an instrument ? It would be a cool thread.

I have 2 CD's out. I'll post the link tomorrow. Cowboy tunes. Lead vocals, 3 and 4 part harmony vocals, played guitar and bass. Produced by Roy Warhurst on Pioneer records. Roy played fiddle and mandolin, and was one of the Sons of the Pioneers for awhile in the 80's and 90's. They used to play 80 shows a year in Branson Ms.

Thank you, it was a fun project. I liked being in the studio and enjoyed the engineering side of it. I learned a lot from Roy and watching him mix and edit was pretty cool. Doing your own background and harmony vocals is kinda weird, because you don't get the different voice textures as you would with other people, but hey what can I say...I work cheap! Overlaying my own bass and multiple guitar tracks was fun too.
