I'm going to be driving to Fort Hood late next week to visit my friend in the Army. I'll be taking a CZ, a Henry and maybe a couple of SA's. I shot my mouth off and said I could get quarter inch groups at 100 yards with the CZ 452-2E in .17HMR wearing a Nikon V-24 scope. I hope I don't embarrass myself.

New indoor range opening on the 30th, located at South 195 (Ft Hood St). My wife and I will be there that day. Plan on taking just 9mm & 45. I'll take the one of the Henry .357 at a later date.
Their web site, http://www.thegunrangeusa.com says grand opening on 7 July.

We use to go to the range all the time and shoot. We would make bets for bragging rights about how well we could beat each other. He is the one I most feel comfortable shooting with.

One summer day back in 2001 or so we shot a full 5,000 round case of Winchester Wildcats in our 10/22's.

Gene, if you need any excuses for not getting those quarter inch groups, just let us know. We can supply all you need. Have a good trip.

Bad ammo, bad weather, bad hair day.......

At least I will get a chance to shoot his STEN and M2 Carbine again. He doesn't have the M16A1 anymore. In his 15 years in the Army he has been stationed in Montana, Alaska and now Texas so he can own them with the tax stamp. When he was overseas he paid to have them stored.

dont get lost on Hood its HUGE , my son was there in between deployments a cpl times, i dont rember the hiway but there is a waffle house before yo cut back west to the base that has the best store bought biscuits and gravy around.

Did someone say waffles? That is funny because that was our breakfast a lot of times befor going to the range.

its been a few years since he was stationed there but i remember that waffle house full of bdu's so im sure its popular, and its waffle house
