I've been doing landscaping and it is finally coming together. When Donna was ill I didn't do much and after she passed away I just didn't feel like doing anything and left a lot of stuff out in the weather. For the last three weeks I've been working 40 hour weeks. This is what I've done so far. Some of the plants were put in two years ago and I raised them after I placed the rock and soil around them.

I have been hauling rock, dirt and plants. I want to block the road and when the plants mature they will block the view of the road when viewed from the kitchen window. This is my view from my kitchen window looking to the right. I don't want to see the neighbors garage and RV so I planted evergreens that should block it in just a couple of years. Those are flowers in the front and the block will come further back where you can't really see in this picture. Here is a closer view from a slightly different view.

In the pics to stones look blue. Are they or an optical illusion?

It looks great. I admired your place when I was there. The area you are in is a very nice area. Im sure when its all done a feeling of accomplishment will be present. We never heard how you came out with your fridge deal did it all work out or did the floor need replaced. Al

Nothing will need to be replaced but I will need to have about 50 square feet refinished. Next summer I might have the kitchen remodeled and will have it done then.

First impressions are important. When folks see your home as they drive up, they will certainly get the impression that the man who lives there cares, and takes pride in his home.

Nice work. We planted Red Cedars at our home in SW FL to block out the neighbors yard. They worked great, Moderate to fast growing, red cedar can reach a mature height of 25 to 45 feet tall and spread 20 to 30 feet wide. So now we have a thick towering border fenced that the birds love and provides privacy.

I have one of the best looking lawns from the street in the summer, especially in the late summer when lawns dry out and turn brown and all because parts of my green lawn is actually moss. When you walk on the lawn you can tell. There are also sections that have not been attended to for a few years.

My goal was to have all evergreens and shrubs in the ground by June 1st so everything can be growing. Now my main attention will be in the back area where the covered area and range is. I love camping and living outside and when done the only things I will need to come inside for is to use the bathroom and shower. But I will hang and eat outside.

All the cedars here are moderate to fast growing but will get several hundred feet tall. The one Douglas Fur I dropped three years ago had 76 rings and was huge. I could lay a long rifle on the stump and take a picture. I used it as a backdrop for the first two years.
