Sad News about Squatch

I have some sad news about my good friend Mark, aka Squatch.

He lost his battle with stomach cancer and passed peacefully in his sleep last week. There was no cermamony at his request. The next time you go to the range, please take a moment and remember him and Mr. Ambassador.
He requested that nothing be sent to the house, not even a card. If anyone wants to do something, toast him with a glass of bourbon or make a donation to St. Jude's Children's Cancer Research.

Very sorry to hear that. Deepest sympathy.
I will send lead down range this weekend in honor of him and his contributions to the forum. He will be missed.

I'm deeply saddened to learn this news. Thank you, Hatch. I'm very sorry for your loss. I know you and Mark were very close. You have my sincere sympathy.
I donate to St. Jude's every month and I will think of him with a different reference as I do from now on. I lift my glass of Tequila to him tonight. Squatch was a valuable and friendly voice on this forum and will very much be missed. God bless him.

I'm not sure about the Tequila, but it is the thought that counts.

Hack,
Very sad to hear the news of Mark's passing, but thanks much for letting us all know.
St. Jude's Children's Cancer Research was almost the very top-of-the-list charity my wife wanted us to support. I've continued "our" doing so even as she is now gone. This next month I'll look over the St. Jude's site to see if there is a commemorative approach to donate in honor of Squatch.
Mr. Ambassador is my favorite Henry centerfire caliber, and as Squatch made him exactly how he wanted that rifle equipped, the final set up was
superb. It will be easy to go back from time-to-time and enjoy those posts & pictures Squatch shared with us.
Again, sure sorry you have lost a good friend.
Will be praying God's comfort for his family members and you also.
Take good care.

This is some very heart breaking news. I met Squatch and also Hack in Gettysburg, Pa. at the gun show a couple years ago and we became friends and talked on the phone about guns and his camping trips and his working on vehicles. He was quite an interesting guy to talk to. Very knowledgeable on a lot of things. I will miss our conversations and the chance to meet him again at the show. We talked the last time about him coming to my place and doing some shooting here while he was coming this way to camp. I think he said Fort Frederick near Clear Spring, Md. RIP Mark you were a great member here and a friend.

We did several trips to Fort Fredrick. It was an easy drive of about 60-90 minutes for each of us. It wasn't unusual for me to get a phone call from Squatch and find myself casmping out with him a few hours later. I am really going to miss him.

Thanks. We spent a lot of time together on the water, on the trails, at the range and by camp fires. Like I said, I will really miss him.
