Remember "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly?"

I just graduated from h.s. in 1966 when this spaghetti western came out in the movie theatres. I do remember the movie quite well, but more than that, I recall how much I enjoyed the main theme song.

Here I am in 2018, and found a new rendition of the song. One of the RFC members posted a link this week of a really excellent performance. https://youtu.be/KkM71JPHfjk

The original theme song was composed by Ennio Morricone, and just recently the Danish National Symphony Orchestra brought out their rendition of "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly." The RFC thread was fun to read, with a lot of comments about this orchestral performance, and the neat visual effects the DNSO folk put together, too. Trust it will brighten your day as much as it did mine! ;) In fact, I'm going to play it again right now! Enjoy.

Everyone have a great day.

Thanks. Have always loved Morricone's scores on a lot of famous westerns. Loved the movie, too, of course.

When I was a punk kid and doing my part time work and going to college I was working at a drive in theater in Kent Washington. It was one of those that was by the carload to get in. 1.99 a carload. We had that movie for about 2 weeks because we kept selling out. That movie is like burned into my mind along with the music. I have the music in my phone. I might even play it in the car on the road to Washington. But I know one thing I will never forget hearing that music as long as I live as it was blasting away at the drive inn out of about 700 plus car speakers while I was doing my job as a lot boy. Al

I loved the movie and the music.

I have had a crush on Clint E. since I was a kid and he was in RAWHIDE.

We still have our top favorite movies of his and the other outstanding ones went to the library.

I am in the midst of watching my RAWHIDE series here at home on dvd.

They play those shows for free on OTA television too.

We kept almost all of Clint's westerns and most of the Dirty Harry movies too.

We kept GRAN TORINO too.

Thanks for sharing the link really enjoyed it and it got me to listen to another favorite movie theme by Ennio Morricone . Once Upon a time in the west, the man with the harmonica. Can still remember first time I saw these movies as a kid still love them. I have to see some of these epic movies again now.

Whats really great is how many movies have used a vestige of the theme song and the clinking of the spurs in a 'showdown' scene? A couple come to mind - one in the movie RED when John Malkovich is facing down the woman with the RPG with his .500 Smith & Wesson and the scene in 'Kelly's Heroes' when Clint, Donald Sutherland and Telly Savalas are approaching the German tank Commander in the final act of the movie.
