My Army Unit is meeting in Branson, MO next month. The unit was been meeting for about ten years and I went to one about five years ago. Because of home health issues I have not been able to travel much since then. Well that is about to change.

I'm going to take a week to pull my new camper 2,000 miles across the country. I will meet the guys and their wives for four days and three nights in Branson, MO. Then I will take another week to drive back home taking a slightly different route. Yes I am ready for an eighteen day adventure across America. I will take the route through Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming and Nebraska out and Iowa, South Dakota, and Montana back. Who lives along that route?

Can’t believe I missed this when you posted it. Great photo, and looking forward to seeing your progress. I know getting together with your brothers will be something special. Give them my respect and a welcome home.

do hope you have a great trip, one that will build many happy memories .... we don't live in that part of the county so we are looking forward to going along through your post and pictures

I'm right on your route home from Branson as you head toward Iowa; you might even drive through KCMO! Just sent you a PM with some thoughts about getting together. It would be great to be able to meet here in the Northland of KC.

I served with A Btry, 2/35th Arty, II Field Forces, Vietnam March 69 - May 70.

Ah.. you're a "redleg".

I remember trying to sleep in numerous fire bases and those darn 155's and 175's would go off and just about knock me off my rack. You still got your hearing? Of course, they were our security blankets when we went out on a mission.

I only had one occasion to call in artillery and it was devastating. And sobering.

I'd love to catch up within you sir Henry where and when will you cross from Wyoming to Nebraska?

Yes a redleg and yes my earing is fine. I was on a penny nickel nickel. We went on a few artillery raids and had infantry around to protect us. Quite the reversal of the traditional roles of artillery.

I should be passing through Saturday, May 5th. I'm only taking 4 days on my return instead of 7. But I will be leaving 3 days earlier on the 20th so I will still be gone for 18 days which was the original total. I've found once the horse is headed for the barn it doesn't want to stop.

I can give you a more accurate time on Saturday when it draws closer. I'm only bringing one rimfire Henry.

I was Air Force, server in the Central Highlands, at Camly Airfield outside of Dalat City. I was a air transportation, air cargo. I was there Dec 67-Dec 68. There was 8 enlisted men 1 air traffic control guy. No officers. we operated the air field 24/7.

Members of my unit 14 Aerial Port Sq. and the remaining members of my team are meeting in Branson in Sept for a 5 days. We met last year in Dayton OH. first time in 50 years since I had seem them.
