Thats an understatement! The guy was an animal! I have previously read about some of his exploits and he was no doubt someone of which there will never be again!

Just a couple miles from me is a spot on the Deschutes River that is 'marked' as a spot where John C. Fremont is supposed to have camped for whatever length of time but who knows. Maybe I'll go poke around the spot with my metal detector sometime.

I was in Wyoming years ago and saw the Oregon Trail wagon ruts and one of the markers. Very cool.

Ok show,
but it would be real nice if they would stop showing everyone firing flintlocks with their frizzen open

Ya I cringed at the horse gear too. Not period correct. But overall I enjoyed the show.
And don't you hate it when you're at a party and your frizzen is open and nobody tells you?

Kit Carson was a lot more man than I am....I got winded just watching the program while sitting in my recliner.
