I bet you are wondering what the subject means. It is the name of my new teardrop trailer. The advertisement says "Flash Gordon futuristic" and the trailer number is 931. I write the number out in full just to be different.

The trailer needed to be outfitted and I've been doing that for the last few weeks getting ready for a trip along the Washington coast this next week. Right now it is setup in the garage. And yes I've slept in it while it is in the garage. I built some plywood trays for stowing dishes. They are slanted forward because that is where everything wants to go. On Sunday Miss Evelyn and I leave for eight days and seven nights along the coast.

Are you using a cooler or a 12v fridge?

I installed a Truckfridge TF51 in my camper a while back along with the solar and battery to keep it running all the time. It's a super efficient compressor style fridge. Only draws 2.5 amps when running. After using a fridge and never having to fish food out of water you'll save the cooler for drinks! Another advantage is that without ice taking up space you can go smaller or just get much more capacity than a same size cooler. 1st trip we took it on Mama Squatch was sold!

Lots of Overlanding types use these or similar in the vehicle. They plug a Goal Zero or similar Lithium ion box into the lighter plug and then plug the fridge into that. When driving everything gets charged. At night unplug the battery pack from the vehicle and the fridge can run off that without danger of discharging the vehicle battery.

Wally world is now selling a pretty good Yeti competitor for a lot less. Imported of course. I have the small 28 liter and it will hold cold drinks and ice for at least 3 days in warm weather without pre-cooling it. For the money I've been real impressed with it. Any of the high performance coolers are a bit heavy though.

I did the Oregon Coast quite a few years ago but it was an awesome experience. Sea Lion Caves was really cool. It looks like a lot of fun in the new rig. I hope you have a safe and enjoyable trip and that Mother Nature gives you some good weather. Al
