Was channel surfing the TV yesterday and stumbled across a show with the Globetrotters. Didn't know they were still around. Anyone remember Meadowlark Lemon and Curley Neal? Some of their antics were the stuff of legend.

They lit up that little B&W TV set and my brothers and I laughed as hard as ever. Very nice memory. Thanks.

Always used to watch them when they were on TV and my Grandfather took me to see them the one time they came to Tampa... a great show. Treasured memory with Granddad. He was always a looming hero in my life and I didn't get to see him nearly as much as I would have liked. The things we did together always stood out ... still do.

Seems like they were on ABC's Wide World of Sports once a month. Felt sorry for the other team they played ( Generals?) Always the butt of the jokes.

I saw them in Lewiston, ID when I was a kid. They played a made up team of the locals. Two of my school teachers were on the team and that was special watching them play someone I knew. It was a good game and although they could have outscored the local team a hundred to nothing they only stayed two points ahead for most of the game.

I used to love watching them whenever they were shown on TV over here. They were definitely the stuff of legends! Image
