Not getting any younger

Don't usually use a forum to whine , but here goes. I sold my ATV several days ago after already selling my trailer. Gentleman pulls up in a Dodge 4 wheel drive pickup, doesn't bring any type of ramps. He suggests we manhandle it into the truck. I have this flashback that I am still a young man and decided go for it. Yesterday the orthopedic Dr. tells me I have a compression fracture and a herniated disc. This morning my wife and I go to breakfast with some friends. Half way through the meal I pass out and go face first into my plate. My question is, Am I now in the Golden Years. Just asking....

sorry to hear of the issues .... don't know if I'd call them golden but do know that I ain't nowhere near as young as I once was ..

.. I also know that is don't heal up anywhere near as quickly and easily as I used to .... if we live long enough, I guess that's true for most of us .... do you believe your back injury and quick nap at breakfast are related ?

The "Golden Years" is a feel good marketing term. There's a lot of that going around, most of which is intended to take some or all of your money while promising a hope for youth and vitality. The reality is that getting older simply means developing a physical and mental patina that does not resemble a precious metal and that will eventually degrade beyond recognition. C'est la vie.

A while back I sold my '87 Firebird that didn't run for $150 and a young guy bought it. It is known by all that this thing is sitting in the pasture not running.
A young kid shows up in a Chevy truck with the tow unit, with his mom, young sister, and a baby that appeared to be on oxygen.
The chevy truck stalls and won't start. The battery is dead.
The three females and their oxygen tank are in the minivan with the air conditioner running. They are going to go get a battery for the truck.
There are no tools or men to muscle the car onto the car towing device, just a young guy and three females.
The dad calls. I wish they would have let me speak to " the dad".
Everything since goes to the junk yard or crusher................

No heavy lifting for me for awhile, unless it is an emergency. Does anyone know the going rate to tip a Henry caddy as he carries rifles out to the range...lol

Don't think my back had anything to do with passing out. I have heart and circulation problems. But the bright side is I can still go, just takes me a little longer. Any time I have a desire to feel sorry for my self, I can walk through a nursing home or a hospital and come out knowing how blessed I am. Life is good.

Yes, our body has a way of letting us know our age. Even though, we seem to forget stuff as we age.
