Gave my kid a semi-throwback present

I was in Sportsman's Warehouse yesterday and came across this cap pistol with a pink handle and matching pink holster. I could feel that it was pretty hefty and saw that it actually had some metal parts to it, so I snatched it and wrapped it up as soon as I got home. I let my 8-yar-old daughter open it this morning because we'll be spending the afternoon and evening with relatives and she'll be playing with her male cousin, a 5-year-old gun nut. Wouldn't you know, she already had clothing to match. She also has pink cowgirl boots that she'll wear to today's festivities.
She had difficulty pulling the trigger far enough to work the action at first, so I examined it and the action is all metal. A couple of drops of gun oil took care of that issue. I thought about removing the silly orange piece from the muzzle, but then thought better of it. I'm the only one bothered by it, so it's of no consequence.
Christmas is off to a real good start at my house! I'm so blessed to have a kid like this that I sometimes have a hard time believing that it's not all a dream.
