Happy Birthday Marines
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Happy B-Day to all the Jar Heads on the Forum. One of my best friends was a Marine but I didn't hold that against him
True story: While in recon in VN we had a FNG come in to the platoon. The thing was his dad was a Marine Colonel also stationed in VN at the same time. At the time, we were all wearing the same color fatigues as the regular army units. He asked why we weren't wearing tiger suits ( marine standard issue)since we were recon and needed to be hard to see. Said it was SOP for the Army. He got up, made a call to his old man. Two days later a marine deuce and half pulled up to our firebase and dumped off enough suits for the whole recon platoon. Its nice to have friends in high places. I dare say we were the only Army Recon platoon in all of VN wearing Marine issue uniforms.
