Miss Tina took a trip to OK to visit the Middle Daughter and her family. It was a decent trip, and she really enjoyed her twelve days. She flew out and back and for once, everything went very smoothly... (well, as smooth as can be expected. ) While in Oklahoma, she worked around the farm with Jessy, feeding the horses, cleaning the barn, and working with the 13 year old Granddaughter on her home school work. It was a nice visit all around. The Highlight of the trip was a horse show they planned to attend, where there would be a special event for the three of them. Three Generations of our Gals, showing three Generations of Jessy's Horses. My son-in-law ratted them out and the Ring Announcer made a big deal about it.

"Mom, Daughter and Granddaughter in the ring in this class, three Generations of women from the same family, showing in the same class.... raise your hands ladies." The stands broke out in applause for the gals....

"We aren't done yet folks... they are also Showing three generations of the same bloodline.. Mom, daughter and granddaughter...." He chuckled "Raise your ... ah, tails ladies.... "

The crowd just about fell out of the bleachers.
(Really, If you wanted to get technical... four generations. The Granddaughter of the mare was pregnant. But they didn't tell them that, it would have gotten really confusing... )

It really was a great day for Jessy, she won a First and a Third,
My Granddaughter got a third and a Fifth,
Miss Tina got a third, (which wasn't bad since she hasn't shown for twenty years, and ... never seen the horse until she flew in the week before.)
She was showing the flighty pregnant youngest horse.
The big deal was Jessy was awarded Grand Champion for the year, on points. (Last Show of the Season.)
She was so happy that her mom was there to see it.

Tina was invited to sit in the judges booth, and later was asked to Assist in the judging of several classes based on her background and experience. The head judge agreed with the calls she made and her recommendations for placement. My Gal's still got it.
She had a wonderful time. However, she is glad to be home safely and I am glad to have her back. It was too quiet here without her and I missed her.

Sorry... would have been better with pictures. Tina usually takes crappy pictures so she... doesn't.

You are lucky, indeed, to have such fine gals in the family. Little wonder you are proud of them. Thanks for sharing. Enjoyed reading about them.

This is one of the horses that was at the show, the middle of the three. She is Addie Grace. She is a true winner, cleaning up the halter classes all year long. Grace is not yet two and already over 16 hands... . I'm not a horse person really, but Miss T tells me that Grace is going to be huge. Jess had been racking up points showing in halter and riding her Gelding "Prince" in various classes. I haven't been following, but she talks to her mom every ... single... day. Miss T said that Jessy earned the Grand Champion and the three or four other honors she was handed that day.
About halfway thru the year, Jess decided to concentrate on the halter classes and sent Prince to a "school" for Children with Disabilities as a "Schooling Pony" (Whatever that is...) so he would get plenty of work. She didn't want him getting fat(er) while she was working the halter horses, and training the new horses that came in. He was on loan to the school for the kids to ride as he is "push button trained and dead broke."

This was a win/win for everyone involved. The school got a great horse for the summer session, and Jess's favorite horse gets a nearly daily workout.
Prince will never truly leave the farm. They have had him since he was a baby and he is LOVED. Jess goes over when she has some rare free time and the schedules work out, and goes trail riding with her "Prince." This is my granddaughter back when she was about six, when Prince was a lil Feller, Jo is now 13 and a pain in the butt. But then, aren't most 13 year olds? Jessy has Prince really trained... how many horses do you know that will "SIT?" Miss Tina said that Prince loves his "mommy" back.

** Any errors in terminology or horsey facts are entirely due to my ignorance and don't reflect any intent to mislead. Miss T isn't here to fact check. The only things I normally did revolving around horses was get up hay from the fields, load it into the barn, throw it into the stalls, and shovel what came out of the other end. Oh... and pay for things.... what Tina didn't cover by managing barns and training horses and riders.

Wanna see funny... check out Prince showing Mom some love. (or acting out?) I think he's saying, "Gimmie that!"

Miss T said my only real error is that Grace is the baby of the three, not the middle in the threesome. She will end up being the largest of the three. She isn't quite 16 hands yet. She will soon reach, or exceed 16 hands. Her full brother is six years old and 16-1/2 hands.

Lets give that girl a hand.

Our paint horse Dakota is 16+ hands high. The older I get the sooner I'll be riding Shetlands.
