interesting to see two top (?) teams scheduled for the season opener .... last night's Alabama vs Florida State game went pretty well as expected .... the first half was pretty close, the Seminoles folded during the second half

I was kind of disappointed in the defense that USC played against Western Michigan. The Trojans won't be contending for a playoff spot unless they stiffen up a bit on that side of the ball.

unfortunately, UNC once again played like UNC .... decent start with a major fade in the second half .... either Duke is stronger than expected or Northwestern is really weak this year

I was a bit surprised by Clemson taking Auburn by 8 pts .... Clemson's defense really played well

What a difference a week makes! Nothing to be disappointed about in USC's performance against Stanford. The Trojans imposed their will on a tough, disciplined team. It was a beautiful thing to watch.

heck of a finish in today's Florida vs Tennessee game .... tied with 9 seconds left, Florida threw a pass that covered 66 yards in the air .... he hit is receiver in mid stride who made the catch after time had expired .... that play will go down in Gator history

Larry apparently has some influence out there .... a few days ago Nebraska fired their athletic director and there is speculation that their head coach is on his way our ....

NC State went to Florida State and came out with a win .... the most surprising thing to me was the largely empty stands .... historically the Seminoles play before a packed house but times sure have changed

Nebraska fired Bo Pelini after a 9-4 season which didnt make sense to any of there fans. I think the AD should have gone before BO. I really question the sense of hiring a coach from Oregon St which rarely has a winning season.

I also think Florida State was way over rated. There QB looked terrible against Alabama.

That's not the guy they expected to be relying on – their top guy got injured against Alabama.
I'm back to not being real high on USC again. Texas, which isn't very good, took them to double OT and now they're struggling against Cal today.

I expected Notre Dame to take Boston College but not by a score of 49-20

so far a pretty typical football weekend for our part of the country .... NC State wins (33-25 over Syracuse) while UNC (Georgia Tech dominated the Heels 33 - 7) .... down 24 - 0, the Vols need a major regrouping at half time ....

tonight's Clemson vs Virginia Tech has the potential of being a good one .... I believe the Tigers are too strong for the Hokies but it could certainly go down to the wire

heck of a crowd at VT for tonight's game but following a fumble recovery, the Tigers are pulling way in the 3rd quarter
