I leave Sunday afternoon for Mt. Stuart. Evelyn and I plan on climbing it on Monday. Or at least make a good attempt. I don't think we have a snowballs chance of making the summit. I've climbed it three times when I was in my 30's. Its not a technical climb but is very strenuous. The hike in is over Long's Pass and then out again over it. In total its 8,000 feet of elevation gain.

We are climbing during a full moon and if we make the summit we will watch the sun go down and the moon rise. Then come down in moonlight.

I've owned this book since 1974, the year I married Donna. We both climbed it in the mid 80's. We will be climbing Ulrich's Couloir. If we don't make it we have it on our schedule for the full moon in August.

Have a great hike! Love that you are so active, both physically and mentally, living life to its fullest.

Old books like that become friends after a time. I still have old field guides from when I was in college that are now out of date, but I love tuning the pages and bringing back memories, especially when I find notes that I wrote in them long ago.

If you alter your plans for later is that considered climb-it change?
