today I drove over to where one of our sons is building a home and watched some fellows working on the roof that I truly respect for their ability .... they walk and work with remarkable ease high off of the ground on very steep slopes .... years ago I ran a chimney cleaning service in which I often had the need to get up on roofs to install chimney caps and such .... that isn't easy but it pales in comparison to the work this roofing crew performs .... I also like the lift system using a ladder and pulley system powered by and electric motor (last 3 pictures) to get the bundles of shingles up on the roof

Most shingle supply companies here load the shingles on the roof with a truck with an elevator similar to a bale elevator. For a fee of course.

I don't see any safety harnesses.

there was a rope for the fellows on the left but they didn't seem to use it very much .... didn't see any type of harness .... like I said, I was amazed at how they made moving around up there look easy .... their lift system was really a neat rig .... it was much faster than I expected

You'd need to tie off and harness above a certain height here to comply with regulations.

Roofin aint for me never has been I hate it. But I notice none of those boys is growin any gray hair either.

Roofing isn't for the faint of heart, for sure.

That's a big roof, looks like at least 60 squares.
We just had ours replaced it took 40 squares and the crew got it done in a day and a half.
The pitch looks the same as ours but we are a single story ranch.
