I'm a gentle person and I dislike killing animals but when I saw a rabbit eating my strawberries yesterday I couldn't take it anymore. I had the neighbors air rifle and was going to sight it in so it was handy. I picked it up, loaded it and took aim. A gentle pull of the trigger and that rabbit won't be eating any more of my strawberries. Then I saw its mate and took care of it quickly. This morning I saw the two babies and eliminated them.

Those four rabbits had been running around my lawn all spring and I didn't care till they started eating my plants.

Miss Tina declared war on the squirrels last year. They were wreaking havoc on her chicken feed budget. When a squirrel had the nerve to growl at her when she tried to run them out of the coop... ... it was on.

Squirrels vs. Miss T and the CZ 452 topped with a Nikon scope. No contest. They moved next door. The neighbor has chickens, but can't hit the little suckers. He's a deer hunter. Used to bigger targets with some wobble room I guess.

It is legal to shoot a firearm where I live if it can be done safely. I'm pro gun but even I think it can't be done safely so I used an air rifle. Three rabbits were injured so severe they couldn't run and just kicked, the forth rabbit only got ten feet. All were finished off with a round to the head from a foot away.

We've got two rabbits that frequent our property, too; lucky for us, they don't seem to want the strawberries, which are just beginning to ripen. They're fond of the clover, though, and graze happily. Last year, however, they ate all of our sugar snap peas. I was not pleased, but this year we don't have a veggie garden. The rabbits are welcome...

well understood on the damage such critters can do .... I'm glad you were in position to take care of business

And...rabbit stew.

I don't like doing it, either, but I draw the line when rabbits are eating up my garden.
