Custom orders?

Post by John E Davies » Tue Mar 14, 2017 8:12 pm

I am sorry, this has probably been discussed before but I found nothing.

Is it possible to custom order a rifle from Henry?

Would they make me a Big Boy Steel Carbine in .327 Federal Mag, but with the All Weather finish and black wood?

I understand that this stuff interrupts the assembly line work flow, but in reality, it would not be hard to pick out a receiver and barrel assembly and send it to the chrome vat instead of the blueing vat, and the wood should interchange, correct?

This isn't an impossible request like a custom chambering, just a matter of would they be willing to do it or not.

I did email them, but I wanted to see if anyone here has done this before.

Comments please.

The best way to approach this is to give them a call during normal business hours.

I agree. From what I understand, calling is best.

It will be interesting to hear what they say. Might be a bit of a dilemma for them. Where do they draw the line? Next guy wants a Big Boy with a saddle ring mares leg receiver, etc. They might do it, you never know. They do really like their customers.

Henry has proven they will work with potential customers to a degree that surpasses many other manufactures .... as had been noted, they are in business to mass produce a high quality line of firearms .... at their price point they can't be setup to custom build one of a kind units .... I do applaud them for doing as much as they do
