a bit of NCAA basketball history .... Ronnie Carr playing for Western Carolina University (my alma mater :) ) made the first 3-point field goal in college basketball history on Nov. 29, 1980 versus Middle Tennessee State .... a game Western won 77-70 ... the ball he used is on display at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass ... the shot was made from the left corner with 16:09 left in the first half (7:06 pm) ... Ronnie actually took and missed a 3-pointer from the top of the key at the 18:15 mark of the first half.

Game tied with 2.5 seconds left in the Big 12 match between KU and TCU, the Kansas Jayhawks (my Alma mater) fouled on a TCU 3-point shot attempt. TCU made all three free throws, and KU is now out of the tournament. Still should be in the big dance.

Ah, March Madness is all about us once again.

I'll pull for Villanova again because they are down near Philly not too far from where I used to live and my son graduated from LaSalle which is a Philly school but they lost to Davidson today. He also did his graduate work at the University of Miami so we are Miami fans too. UNC beat them good today :D Right now I am watching the Creighton-Providence game.

Kansas Jayhawks pulled away from Michigan State to take their game this afternoon, 90-70. They'll be in the Midwest Region Sweet 16, and their next game will be played here in KCMO. Always exciting to play on home courts.

Ah, the world of March Madness. My alma mater, KU, just went home leaving the OR Ducks heading to the Final Four. Game ended with a score of 74 - 60.

Interesting stat for the Ducks. This is there first return to the Final Four since 1939!

prior to the game, no way I would have picked the Ducks but they were in charge pretty much from the get-go .... guess that's why they play the game
