007

Post by RanchRoper » Thu Jan 19, 2017 8:34 pm

Ok, I'm watching one of my Bond DVD's tonight just cuz I need a 007 fix.

I'm putting it out there;

Favorite movie: You Only Live Twice
Bond? Connery followed closely by Daniel Craig.
Car? The original Aston Martin in Goldfinger
Villain? Robert Shaw in from Russia With Love
Opening sequence? The massive destruction in Tomorrow Never Dies!

Yours?

Very much on the actors, though Pierce Brosnan was cute. :)

I was surprised (him too apparently) that they changed him out so fast. I thought he did a good job and was aging in the role well.

Believe it or not, "You Only Live Twice" was the first date that I had with my wife, who I had only met about one week earlier in the summer of 1967. It showed at a drive-in movie just outside of Cambridge, Maryland. I was in the Navy and had come up from Norfolk, Va. for the weekend. When I was up there a week earlier, my buddy had introduced me to her. And yes, I was a gentleman at a drive-in for our first date. I was 22 and she was 17. Her mother liked me very much. :D Same girl that is my wife today. It was a great summer before I shipped off to Cuba. That's why it is my favorite James Bond movie also. I always liked Connery the best of all in James Bond movies, but there surely were some great ones. Oh yeah, we got married in the summer of 1968.

Bond will always bring the face of Sean Connery to mind at first. Agreed that Daniel Craig is second best.

Favorite Bond girl will always be Ursula Andress. "Underneath a mango tree my honey"

Favorite Bond gun is the Walther PPK.

A close second is the Armalite AR-7 that most will recognize.
