I had my wife try to get my pictures to work on photobucket so I thought I would try to post what my room looks like after Sundays destruction from that car hitting it. Here is my room when I first got everything done and it looked nice.

Here is how it looks now and not very nice any more. The pictures do not show the true damage that is in here.


I don't have any of the out side of the house but the damage is estimated at probably in the $25,000 or higher range.
I did start working at cleaning up this mess this evening and plan to patch the hole in the foundation to keep the cold on Saturday.

Wow! Quite a mess, good thing you weren't in there at the time. I sure hope the repairs get started quickly. Take care of yourself and the missus. Wish I could do more than offer moral support.

I'd push a broom all day for a shooting lesson from Bandit.

Again, I'm grateful that you got out of the way of the impact, Bandit, and that neither you nor your wife are "in shambles." That's the most important part of it all. Glad you're able to start some clean up...it will come back! Take care.

Looking at the way it was, bandit, I just know it won't take you long to get everything back to normal. Stay strong, and keep chasing the insurance company.

The first pic reminds me of my Dad's garage. The "after" pics remind me of my garage.

So, this must be why it's called "picking up the pieces". I'm so glad you are both OK, Bandit. The wrecked house will come back together again and maybe someday you'll both even laugh about "the time it had an auto accident". In the meantime, hug each other a little bit tighter and enjoy that amazing feeling. Thanks for keeping us posted.

Dang there Buddy! That bites big time. If somebody drove through my house I think I'd be a bit on edge myself.


DO NOT settle with the insurance company until you have talked to a lawyer. Sure hope you can put this all behind you soon. Weather isn't your friend this week for sure. Gettin' kind of cold to have a hole in a wall!

Definitely be patient. You don't know how good your insurance is till you have to make a claim.
Been there, unfortunately twice, but fortunately my ins. was pretty good. It helps to have family for the construction co. too
Even still, the construction co. dealt with ins. I had to do nothing.
Did have a chimney fire 2 weeks after having it cleaned, but mostly all went well. Other than having a hole in my LIVING ROOM all winter and no fireplace. That was a few years ago when natural gas was not so cheap !!
