Deer season may be short

Post by bandit1250 » Wed Nov 30, 2016 3:16 pm

I got up this morning to go out for deer as I had stayed home yesterday. I should have stayed in bed! I went out to bring in some wood for the furnace and I tripped and fell face forward in to the wheel barrel full of wood. As I went down I tried to put my hands out to stop myself and I hit a log on the end with my hand and it flipped it back toward me and it got me in the right eye as I went down. I have blurry vision now in a eye that was fantastic before. Can't get in to see a doctor until tomorrow late afternoon unless I lose my vision completely in the right eye. I am a mess right now and probably will clean up my rifles and write off the rest of season. I just hope it gets better because of the great eye sight I still enjoyed up until this happened. I will definitely have a big shiner coming up. If anyone asks what happened I am going to say "This is what happens when you want to go in the woods and your wife don't want you to go." :o

I had a stick falling out of a tree hit me in the open eye years ago. Scratched the cornea. That eye was very blurry. Went to the ER. They put some ointment in it, a patch over it, and told me to leave it on for 24 hours. When I pulled the patch, I was back to normal. Well, my eye was normal anyway.

Hopefully it will be as simple as that for you. Good luck.

I wish you the best. A couple years ago I had serious vision problems but everything healed fine. Don't be surprised if you have a total and complete recovery.

Very sorry about the accident, Bandit. Never expected, never an easy thing.
I agree totally with NCG's well-wishes for you, and will pray there will be good healing and complete recovery for your eye.
Take good care of yourself.

Bandit, I hope you have a quick recovery. See what the doctor says before your deer season is over.
