What model? How big?
Sometimes when I'm watching different sports I think of what my Dad would think of today's many sports only channels and what he would think of watching them on a high def big screen tv.
He passed in the late 60's and he was a true sports fan(atic), I can remember him on weekends switching between channels if there was a sports event on more than one channel (of the 3 total channels back then) and also having the radio on if there was game on it.
I don't know if he played any sports when he was young. He was in his late 40's when I was born and had one leg completely paralyzed from polio. I never really thought of him as crippled as he got along so well with one leg in a brace.

happy belated Fathers Day to all dads here. My stepson is in Paris with his family and sent me greetings from Normandy. My wife and I went to my son’s girlfriend’s home for dinner. We enjoyed bacon and eggs, au gratin potatoes and a bowl of mixed fruits. Topped off by homemade maple bars. Wonderful!
Dave77, reading your post about your Dad watching 60’s version of TV sports reminds me of watching Wide World of Sports back then. Can’t believe how TV viewing has improved so much over the decades.

I can remember those days, especially watching American Sportsman. Fred Bear hunting black bear, Adam West hunting elk, great stuff. Those episodes stuck in my mind, and to this day, whenever I'm out with a buddy and walking through a field while bird hunting, I think about Bing Crosby and Phil Harris singing to each other while they hunted.

Samsung - 55” Class U8000H Series Crystal UHD 4K Smart Tizen TV (2026)
It's pretty good for 360 bucks. I would have liked to go a size smaller around 50" but my GF isn't having it.
The old Vizio had no more definition in the dark scenes, everything went dark nearly impossible to see anything. Regularly lit scenes were fine.
I am happy I did it.
