I was tying the word intimate in the baseball thread and it was changed to primate. Not even close. Even the lase sentence was changed starting with the word not as it was changed to now.

In the future I’m not going to correct any mistakes.

When spell check wants to change a misspelled word to something completely different I will highlight the word, right click it and do a google search and it will often suggest the right spelling.

The problem is I usually haven’t misplaced the word. It just changes it. I have an older version of Microsoft Word with its own dictionary and I don’t have problems with it.

It seems to have gotten worse with the integration of AI into pretty much everything online. I think that some of the AI bots want to be comedians when they grow up.

I see this a lot in my writing. I proof read and think to myself, "I'm pretty sure I didn't write that." Later in the work, I'll see the word changed as soon as I hit the space bar. I have three choices really. The first: turning off auto correct. Not much of a choice these days, my memory is shot from all the surgeries. The second: turn off auto correct and run a document spell check upon completion. Ah, the spell check may or may not highlight / like usage or phrasing. A lot of my writing is technical and I would spend a lot of time skipping highlighted tech or military words or phrases or adding them to the dictionary. Last option: leave it and watch for the big brother changes. Sheesh.

I use spell check, but not autocorrect. When I care, i can choose from a list, the word spelling I want or add to the dictionary.

Actually the spell check is fine now that i turned off aito correct. I haven’t had any problems here or elsewhere wring a complete sentence that makes sense. Well if it doesn’t its my fault.
