the only thing keeping us from doing our taxes is both of our 1099's from the State of North Carolina haven't come .... just wondering, for those who have finished filing your taxes, how much do the changes in Federal taxes on Social Security Retirement and purchasing a new vehicle built in the USA impact your taxes

Had to pay $600 for tax year 2024. We are hoping we Will have no tax liability with the new lower tax rates.

My return was pretty much the same as 2024, a little higher with the COL increases for SS and state pension. Got $1200 back last year, $1600 back this year so not a huge difference.

Thanks. I have used the site previously. My accountant told me the return was accepted, I did not realize that did not mean approved. Oh well.

Just received my last 1099 so I’ll be filing today. Simple return. Looking forward to seeing just how 2025 will compare to 2024.

I'm going to take your post as a positive sign. Hope to be ready for our accountant by the middle of next week.

wish I could say that .... yesterday I called the NC Dept of Revenue .... asked to speak with some one who could tell me when to expect our 1099's .... after being transferred twice, the lady put me on hold for several minutes .... when she came back to the phone she said she couldn't find any info on it and asked me to call back if the 1099's haven't come in two or three weeks

Filed my simple taxes yesterday. Learned a few things, a large portion of our SSI was taxed as usual. We did get the $12,000 deduction for the “no tax on SSI” as expected. While I appreciate the 12k deduction we did pay tax on some of our SSI. As win but not a 100% win. Our refund was a bit over $300 more than last year.
