Went out to eat tonight in Port Aransas Texas USA. Local Mexican restaurant is always crowded and you need to get there early to get in. We made it in on the first go around so we decided to go to the ship canal and watch the moon come up as it was another super moon. I was able to get a pretty decent picture. Oh food was excellent too

I believe the correct and historical name is the Gulf of Mexico. Just want to set the record straight.

Of course, your right. The next president could come in and rename it after his home state or city. LIke Gulf of Texas or gulf of Ohio or the Golf of South Dakota (my favorite). Sorta like the song "The Name Game" .

Partially right. Most countries and organizations refer to that body of water as the Gulf of Mexico, as it has been called for centuries. An executive order by a person without any authority to make such a change is meaningless. Google pandered to his silliness, (billionaires are thick as thieves). As a result, USA users see it on Google Maps as the Gulf of America. Everywhere else, including Mexico and Canada, Google identifies it by its proper name. But we can all call it anything we like. I call it the Gulf of Mexico.
