Yeah, me too. I was in St. Charles, Mo. a few year ago and at the Lewis and Clark Museum. It was near closing time and the curator was shuffling folks out when he saw my Vietnam Vet cap. I was looking at the Air Rifle that was one of two that Lewis and Clark had taken on their trip when he came up and asked if I'd like to hold it. (He was a fellow Vietnam vet). "You bet I would!"
He unlocked the case and let me hold it and look it over for a few minutes. I was honored.

I can't afford his pistols but we were in Wally World today and right in the middle of the isle was a large display stating "Daisy Red Ryder BB Guns on Sale". They had scores of them stacked up in boxes ready to sell to a new generation of kids ready to shoot their eye out.

It's a great start for kids to get into the shooting sports, or break neighbors windows......................

Very cool! But when the handling gloves come out it's out of my pay scale!

YEARS ago, I was at a gun show in Richmond and there was a table with a number of guns for sale. In a locked display case, they had The Jackass Leather Shoulder Holster, and the two mags and Bren Ten from Miami Vice used by Don Johnson in his first season as Sonny Crockett. Jackass Leather would become Galco, and that model shoulder holster would later become the Miami Classic. Included in the case were two autographed pics of the actor wearing the shoulder holster and holding the gun, and the certified documentation from the studio including the serial number proving that the pistol in the case was the gun from the series. The entire display, including the case, was priced at a cool $10,000. WAY out of my price range.

Miami Vice was one of the hottest shows on the tube at the time and it was great to see the gun up close. They got rid of the gun due to performance problems and went with (I think) a Smith and Wesson 645 with a Detonics for backup. I don't know what ever happened to the Bren Ten from the show, I'd imagine it's in a collection somewhere. There are a couple guns I would like to own if money wasn't an issue.

One of Clint's guns would be on the list.
John Wayne's would make the list as well.
Tom Selleck sold off one of the Quigley Down Under guns. That would certainly make the cut.

Most if not all of John Wayne's guns are on display at the "Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Museum" In Oklahoma City.

We have been there several times and it is a wonderful place and not at all what you would expect.

Back in the Early 80s, I had to take a trip to California for a Program Demonstration for a Joint Services Project I was working on. Had a day off and wanted to get away from the pressure. I had seen a flyer at the hotel for the Bianchi Museum. They had (at that time) John Wayne's Gunbelt from many of his movies and the gun he carried in most of them. It was on loan to the museum, as were many of the items on Display. You saw it in "The Cowboys" and "Big Jake" and the like. I spent hours in the museum, a fond memory of the trip.

I bought an 8x10 of the Duke cut in leather and framed in walnut at the Museum Gift Shop. I still have it, hanging behind me on the wall of my home office as I type this post. The Bianchi Museum closed several years later and I imagine he donated those items to various museums or returned them to the people who had loaned them for display.

Last spring I went on a guided tour of the Shriners Headquarters in Tampa Fl. The had a room with several of The Duke's guns that he donated as he was a Mason and Shriner. Made me fell good to know that he was a Brother.
