Reflecting on the nature of this heroic man's service is sobering and inspiring. He and his fellow servicemen provided an almost unparalleled patriotic statement about the values of the U.S.A. and the U.S. Constitution's solemn promises.

My fiance's father was in B-17's . He said the Tuskegee airmen escorted them on several missions. On the way to the movie about them, RedTails,
all he said was ........ we were glad to see them.

That is true of the entire WWII generation. They went from horse drawn carriages to space travel and the internet. I don't know that any generation is going to see change like that again.
Yeah, the last of great group of men, for sure.
