We had gone six to eight weeks with nothing. They call for heavy rain and it would split and go around us. So dry here the ground had started cracking and the grass was brown and crinkled when you walked on it. That rain ^^^^^ is exactly what we need and we are scheduled for a couple more days of it. Not worried about refilling the pond, we cracked the dam to drain it... we'll either do some repairs or scale it down. But the pasture and the yard need the rain.

Good News
With all the gloom and doom in the news these days, I thought I would share some GOOD news, at least for us... we have had three days of off and on steady rain, with breaks to rest. NOT hard driving rain, but steady hour long misting rain, then a medium rain. Then the sun comes out for a couple hours, then the rain returns. Might get a good hard rain for an hour, then nothing. Sky clouds back up and wind kicks up, then it starts a slow steady rain for a couple hours.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can't do anymore with regret, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Re: Good News
Good to hear the news. We had been dry here for the past two months. every time the weather guessers predicted rain they were either wrong or we got a light sprinkle. My lawn service aerated and seeded the first week of September so keeping the lawn watered in an attempt to get those seeds to sprout ran last months water bill up..$393.00….normal for us is $95
So the rain here started two days ago and is much needed. Guess I should have started my rain dances earlier.

Re: Good News
The only downside is it's keeping me off the range, and I had more shooting I wanted to do. But, plenty of time for that.
