I just spent three days looking for vintage radios and bought three out of about 40 that I saw. One guy had most of them but most needed work. This radio had the capacitors and tubes replaced and it sounds like a million dollars. The speaker cloth needs to be replaced and I just ordered a new lamp. This one was made in August of '64 and looks brand new. The inside has a lot of dust and I need to spend a day with electronic cleaner to make is sound new. Right now is has a nice sound but turning the dials makes noise. This is usually a sign the dials have a ton of dirt on/in them. Cleaning is easy but I will have to take it apart. Before I take it apart I'll take a dozen pictures so I know where to hook the wires up again. The Cougar/Buffalo football game sure sounded good on this radio last night. It needs a new lamp also and the lamp looks like it is on the dial so only the numbers its on is illuminated.

That's three great looking radios! How many do you have altogether now?

Those are very nice. I especially like that white one. It looks right at home on that table.

I have six vintage tube radios, another seven old transistor radios from the seventies plus another half dozen modern radios. I am still loving for a floor radio.

Those radios remind me of the AM radio my grandparents had on top of their Frigidaire back around 1960. When we went over to their Brooklyn apartment for Sunday dinner, they'd have it playing old Italian tunes. I can remember how excited I was to get a transistor radio several years later.
