I just order two Herrys. A single shot .410 and single shot .243. It will be a month or more before they’re ready to ship as they are not in the production schedule but was told will be ready in 30-45 days.

Can’t wait to get the Henry to use. I’ve admired their guns and think I’ll really enjoy them hunting.

Something about the simplicity of a single shot that always appealed to me. On some single shot rifle models, the barrel is interchangeable, and with you having two, I'm guessing that eventually you'll find out if that's the deal with the Henrys as well.

One other aspect to a single-shot firearm. You get to be a better shot when you know that you only get the one attempt. No quick second attempt available like with a repeater.

My older brother's preferred rifle when we were teenagers was a single-shot .30-30. He could shoot the spire points, while I was limited to round-nosed bullets in the Winny 94.

For many years in Virginia I hunted with a single shot Ruger No. 1. I had two, one in .243 for varmints, and one in 7mm Mauser for deer.
I still have the 7mm but I sold off the .243. I found that I was a better hunter with a single shot. I would wait for the right moment before
I fired whereas when if I had a repeater I often shot sooner and missed.
