One of my Veteran Heroes

Post by RetiredSeabee » Thu Nov 10, 2016 9:00 pm

Last year Just before Christmas I heard from a young man who grew up with my kids.
He had just been diagnosed with Stage 4 bone cancer.

He is one of the funniest people I have ever known. Great sense of humor and Loyal to friends and family an Country. He was one of 8 children and his dad was a Navy officer.
He joined the Navy right after High School. Then came home and went to college for a couple of years and got a job and got married.
He enlisted in the Army on September 12, 2001. And was on the front line of the invasion of Iraq.
After his service in the Army he went back to college and got his degree and joined the Norfolk Virginia Police force. He advanced to the rank of Detective and worked homicides.
He has twin sons who are just like him and a beautiful little girl who looks like her mother.

Here is his story compliments of his local television station.

Thank you for that, it's a great story. It's rough, I know, and he is a true hero and I hope he stays in remission.
